The tourism promotion activities are underway in eight tourist destinations of Magway Region, said U Zaw Lwin Htet, director of the regional Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

The tourism promotion in eight tourist destinations includes sharing data on destinations with travel agencies for visitors from Thailand and conducting awareness campaigns for local tourist guides, hotels, motels and guesthouses.

“The region boasts eight destinations that the local and foreign travellers visit. We conduct an awareness campaign to ensure that visitors can visit here safely and share the history of these sites. We also negotiate with relevant officials to provide better transport services.

The tourists from Thailand and Russia have already explored these sites and so we keep making preparations to promote the tourism industry,” he said.

The eight tourism spots in Magway Region are Myatha-lun Pagoda and Magway Strand Road in Magway township, Setkeinte Pagoda and Naga-bwat Hill in Minbu township, Minhla Fort and Kway Creek Fort in Minhla township, Beik-thano City in Taungdwingyi township, Bogyoke museum in Natmauk township, Sandaku Nantha Monastery in Pwintbyu township, Wetthegan in Salin township, Sarle region in Ye-nangyoung township, Yokesone monastery in Salle, Thihoshin pagoda, Tharakkhan pagoda, Shwegu pagoda, Shwemokeht-aw pagoda and Pakhangyi ancient city in Pakokku township.

Pagodas are seen in the Sarle region of Yenangyoung Township which is described as the second Bagan.
